First entry
Recently, my interests have been changing in a most rapid fashion but I would have to say that it has only aided me in my journey of self discovery, a journey that we should all partake in. I have entered a new phase in my life, a very exciting one that I hope I will never abandon. It all began with me experimenting… or so it would seem from those outside of my perspective. I was never really the type to experiment, this to me was more of an issue with curiosity. For me curiosity is like pain, of course much more subtle than pain but similar in that your mind desperately seeks relief from it. In this case, the curiosity that I was so desperately but secretively seeking relief from was the somewhat popular marijuana high. Yes, in health class when the teacher was teaching us about the dangers of marijuana that pushed me away a little, but I was always interested in knowing what euphoria felt like. Being an ignorant teen at the time I did not really bother questioning things and so for the greater part of High School I held a strong anti-drug view. However, this did not last for a long time. Soon my friends began to venture into this unknown world, inviting me to join them. Although, I was repulsed and disgusted at first, that little bit of curiosity pulled me in. For the first time in my life I decided to research for myself rather than believe every word our superiors told us. What I discovered was mind boggling… marijuana is not really a dangerous drug at all. As a result of this discovery, the answer became clear: I must try marijuana. And so I did… discovering even more than I had been expecting. A new world, a world of altered consciousness that made my logical mind explode and my philosophical one flourish. Basically, this altered state of consciousness had raised millions of questions and undoubtedly sparked my interest in the working of the mind.
This little prologue was written to remind me of the origin of interest in the mind and altered states of consciousness. Also, I think it works as quite a decent introduction to my blog as well. Oh yes… my blog, hmm how to explain its purpose? In basic form my blog is meant to record my experiences that I would normally forget, my dreams. It will serve mostly as a personal dream journal to aide me in my quest to achieve lucid dreaming. In addition, if I ever decide to try other mind altering substances I will be sure to post the experience here. I have made the blog public because I love to share, all humans love to share, and for that reason I appreciate any comments or e-mails. Want to discuss something with me?
